Children’s Alliance End of Session Report: 2010

During our last legislative session we sincerely attempted to aid and protect all our citizens, young and old alike.  Below is an excerpt from a letter recieved from Teresa Mosqueda at the Children’s Alliance:

Throughout the 2010 Legislative Session, the Children’s Alliance worked hard to keep children and family priorities at the center of policy decisions and budget discussions. In the hardest legislative session in living history, the Children’s Alliance played a pivotal role by working closely with elected officials and our coalition partners to preserve essential funding and many critical support systems for Washington’s children.  Please read the 2010 Legislative Session Review for an in-depth look at what was accomplished for kids, the setbacks that were averted, and the next steps we’re taking to keep children and families at the top of the priority list for next year.

YWCA Summer Social

Summer social.  Summer fun.  Some funding help for a great year round program

This year the YWCA features their program  “Y’s Care.” Y’s Care is an early learning community that strives to provide a well-rounded support system for preschool aged children and their families.

AARP Report on the 2010 Legislative Session

Here linked is a note from the Washington AARP. The report highlights legislative issues of importance to our senior population and some topics that affect us all.

Jim notes: “It’s important to remember that what is NOT done is equally important as to what IS done in Olympia.”
