Greetings from the Democratic Convention in Denver

August 25th, 2008

Dear Friends:
I writing to you from the Democratic National Convention in Denver. This has been the most incredible experience and it’s only day one! From meeting comedian and U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken to Mayor Nevin of New Orleans and sharing a van with former Governor Barbara Roberts of Oregon and seeing President Jimmy Carter to Sen. Edward Kennedy the days here are full of political stars!

Democratic Convention floor - colorful and full of people.

Democratic Convention floor - colorful and full of people.

There are tons of events and receptions to attend but it’s very difficult to get around as the hotel is miles away from the Pepsi Center where the convention is being held. I’m getting to know many delegates as the entire Washington delegation is here at the Hyatt. There is no doubt that Obama is the nominee. It’s Obama all day, all the time.

Tomorrow it’s Hillary Clinton (and Bill I suppose) and another host of political heavy weights – so off to bed!

I’ll write more tomorrow.!
