Independent Thinking – taking sides
We have mentioned before how difficult it is to gather information on how my opponent stands on issues such as the environment, labor, transportation and education other than to say he thinks those are all good things – that’s a tough position. Also, Mr. Bomar’s doorbell piece doesn’t help us much as it has no specifics other than opposition to an income tax. Additionally, it’s been even more difficult to find out how Mr. Bomar stands on the “social issues” of our time. Included here is the Voters Guide (available at many local churches) issued recently by the Family Policy Institute of Washington. I don’t believe that there is any clearer difference available on how Mr. Bomar and I view and approach these important issues.
It’s interesting to note that although Mr. Bomar expressly stated during our Columbian editorial board endorsement interview that he supports civil unions and other marriage like benefits for same-sex citizens, he answered that he opposes such benefits to the Washington Policy Institute of Washington. I wonder who was right and who was wrong? You be the judge if mine or Mr. Bomar’s answers fit YOUR values and then, PLEASE VOTE.
