Follow the Money – campaign funds info
Ever wonder who gives to Jim’s re-election campaign? Have you wanted to know about candidates and who supports them? Then Follow the Money is for you. This site is specially designed to consolidate campaign finance disclosure data.
From Jim:
The attached .pdfs summarize the result of a budget proviso I got into the 2007 budget. It’s an interest I’ve had since I was elected to have an easier way for folks to see who donates to campaigns and how much through our state PDC. I’ve introduced several bills over the years but they have always been outrageously expensive (6m+). This study came back more reasonable but is still likely to be ignored in this budget climate.

Jim has a perfect record for filing and we are happy to offer followthemoney.org as a tool for voters. You will note that as of our post date no funding numbers for Washington’s 2008 election cycle are available. You can look back on previous elections cycles as well as at ballot initiatives and data from federal and other state races.
Also be aware that the Institute makes this statement about how to view their tables:
The tables [below] provide an overview of the Institute’s data collection to date for this election cycle, for political party committees and for candidates.
The tables outline the reporting schedule for both candidates and party committees and indicate which campaign-finance reports the Institute has obtained from the state. The grid also shows the status of the reports the Institute has received, indicating whether the information has been requested, has been received, is in the process of being input and audited, or has been uploaded to our Web site. It DOES NOT reflect what the candidate has filed with the state’s official disclosure agency, only what we have been able to collect to this point.
